The Autodesk Visualization Award is conferred upon teams who demonstrate excellence in the technical and visual aspects of animation.
Every year, a prompt is issued to teams, and during the six-week build season, a thirty second animation is created.
The process starts with a brainstorming session that becomes a storyboard. The team uses
3DS Max software to model the various objects needed.
They are then textured, giving the resemblance of life. Special effects are also added, such as the reflection of light.
After texturing, they are sent to be given motion by the animators. Finally, they are compiled
into the thirty second form.
The last step is rendering and burning the finished file onto DVDs, ready for distribution
This year, the rendering process has been aided by the gift of a new computer, generously donated by Mr. Cliff Dey.
